I remember when I was first bitten by the gardening bug. We had just purchased our first home and my husband had built some beautiful cedar planters for our deck. Although I could maintain my own life, and the life of my pets, I had a vicious history of killing every houseplant that had the misfortune of entering our house. Despite having no idea what I was doing, I was determined to don a green thumb and grow my own produce. There was a lot of trial and error in my first few gardens. While you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to get your garden to grow, these tips will help you make fewer mistakes than I did.
